Lionheart was an integral part of a collaborative effort tasked with identifying potential projects within three Houston-area Management Districts—the Airline Improvement District, East Aldine Management District, and North Houston District. Situated just 7 miles from Central Houston, the North Houston District primarily resides in unincorporated Harris County. The team’s mandate involved defining, budgeting, and refining these projects into a coordinated master plan.
Employing an innovative scoring system, Lionheart and the team crafted a prioritized list of projects. Additionally, they implemented a bilingual, interactive, and inclusive stakeholder engagement strategy to address participation barriers in the Aldine region. Political boundaries have historically hindered the region’s access to essential infrastructure, sidewalks, and pedestrian amenities.
Serving as consultants, Lionheart spearheaded the analysis of parks, open spaces, drainage projects, community centers, and government-supported affordable housing initiatives. They also conducted comprehensive evaluations of bicycle and pedestrian connections while facilitating a series of public workshops to gather valuable community input.
